Award-Winning Screenwriter and Author Matt R. Lohr Launches Damn the Torpedoes Entertainment

Los Angeles, CA, December 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Matt R. Lohr, award-winning screenwriter, essayist and critic, and co-author of the critically acclaimed screenwriting book "Dan O'Bannon's Guide to Screenplay Structure," proudly announces the "launch" of Damn the Torpedoes Entertainment. This new multimedia venture, based in Los Angeles, CA, will present original entertainment content across a variety of media platforms, from e-books and original web entertainment to television and feature films. Under Lohr's creative and business leadership, Damn the Torpedoes Entertainment hopes to usher in a new era in multi-platform entertainment content with the same fearless and explosive energy as the words that gave the company its name.

“I have always prided myself on being someone whose interests in media and entertainment cover a broad range of styles and disciplines,” says Lohr. “I have been an actor, a stand-up comic, a radio personality, an author, even a cartoonist. Damn the Torpedoes will hopefully be an opportunity for all of these skills to come together, for me and my creative partners to flex our muscles in a variety of different stages media.”

The company will officially launch the following year with the publication of “Thug,” an e-book based on an original screenplay written by Lohr. The company will continue its publication endeavors with a variety of titles in both fiction and non-fiction genres, as well as the development of “The Daily Todd,” an original comedy TV series co-created by Lohr and writer Jason Thompson.

“One thing I've learned during my time slugging it out in the Hollywood trenches,” says Lohr, “is that this is becoming a do-it-yourself business almost by design. Which is fine with me, because frankly, I trust me to do it better than most of the potential creative forces out there. Damn the Torpedoes is my opportunity to cut out the middle-man, creatively speaking. I'm hoping that my audience will like what they find as a result.”
