Pacific Retirement Services and Friends House Announce the Appointment of Travis Staples as Executive Director of Friends House

Travis Staples, a PRS employee, served as the interim Executive Director of Friends House in Santa Rosa, Calif., until his unanimous permanent appointment in December 2012.

Santa Rosa, CA, January 02, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Friends House, a not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community in Santa Rosa, California, and Pacific Retirement Services, Inc. (PRS), a not-for-profit senior housing and care provider that manages Friends House through its California affiliate, Retirement Services, LLC (RSLLC), are pleased to announce that Travis N. Staples, NHA, has been appointed to the position of Executive Director of Friends House, effective immediately. His selection came after a national search that lasted several weeks. The search committee was composed of Friends House residents, Board members, and PRS executives.

“The committee unanimously chose Mr. Staples over the other candidates and recommended him to the Friends House Board of Directors, which supported the decision,” says Kay Kerriden, Friends House Board Clerk. “Mr. Staples has served Friends House well these past months, and we are very pleased that he is staying on as Executive Director.”

Mr. Staples is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in Oregon and California. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Certificate of Applied Finance and Economics, both from Southern Oregon University. During college, he was awarded an internship at PRS, which owns and manages several Continuing Care Retirement Communities and senior affordable housing centers in five states. He gained a breadth of experience while serving in various capacities at the PRS headquarters in Medford, Oregon. Later, he was hired by PRS to be a Management Analyst, working concurrently as the interim Executive Director of Friends House.

“Mr. Staples has exhibited a unique combination of knowledge, experience, and leadership,” says Steve Wuitschick, PRS Regional Vice President of Operations. “He also has extensive experience as a project manager of commercial and medical facility construction, which is a plus in the physical management of any retirement community. PRS was pleased to be able to promote Mr. Staples to the position of Executive Director of our management client, Friends House.”

Friends House is owned by Friends Association of Services for the Elderly (FASE), and has been managed by PRS affiliate Retirement Services, LLC (RSLLC), since May 1, 2012. Mr. Staples is an employee of the PRS affiliate Retirement Services, Inc. (RSI), and will continue to work at the Friends House campus located at 684 Benicia Drive, Santa Rosa, CA 95409.
