Chicago's 'Blue Eyed Soul' Singer to Perform Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Week
Lead singer of the world's premier CCR/John Fogerty tribute band, Creedence Again, Singer/Songwriter and radio broadcaster Dan McGuinness hits the road from Chicago to perform during the week long festivities in Hulett, Wyoming. Hundreds of thousands of motorcyclists make the trek up to the gorgeous scenic roads of Wyoming and South Dakota to show their 'biker pride'. A week long of events plus plenty of live music.
Chicago, IL, July 26, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The usually quiet town of Hulett, Wyoming is anything but quiet during the annual Motorcycle Rally Week in early August. Hundreds of thousands of motorcyclists make their way to Sturgis, South Dakota from all over the country through the streets of Hulett, (just 20 minutes outside of Sturgis) to soak in the local scene of live music, food, vendors and more.
Not only will they encounter the gorgeous scenery of Wyoming and South Dakota, Devil's Tower Monument, (located a short drive south of Hulett) they will be treated to live music from one of Chicago's best kept secrets, Dan McGuinness.
Hailing from Chicago, IL, singer/songwriter and radio broadcaster, McGuinness also fronts the World's Premier Creedence Clearwater Revival & John Fogerty tribute band, Creedence Again. Inspired by the rock and roll country sounds created by CCR in the late 60s, McGuinness followed the inspirational path of such music legends as John Fogerty, Neil Diamond and John Denver.
His musical journey has led him to be scouted as a lead singer replacement for touring Creedence Clearwater Revisited, led by two original members from CCR. He continues to pursue his passion of musical travels having performed in Dublin, Ireland, South Africa, Puerto Rico, and all over the United States.
"Since meeting Danny Mac (as we sometimes say - we're not good spellers) in the last year or so, we've done national TV appearances, festivals, casinos, theatres, live video shoots, special events, nightclubs and recording sessions. Even though the venue or location may change, one thing never does: The quality of his voice. We've discovered firsthand - as has everyone within earshot - that he possesses incredible pitch, range, clarity & phrasing, both live and in the studio. It would appear there's nothing he can't handle, including country, rock, blues, R & B and soul. In fact, let me be the first to call it: Dan's singing may truly be one for the ages."
Marty Larkin, producer/promoter
Working in accordance with The Ponderosa Cafe & Bar, owned and operated by the Coronato family in Hulett, McGuinness will be performing all week, August 3rd - 9th.
Armed with his acoustic and electric guitar rigs, those in attendance can expect to hear plenty of rock and roll favorites from a variety of popular artists.
"I'll be doing everything from Bobby Darin to Green Day, with a little of everything in between" he says. "I usually tell people you've heard of every song I sing, and the one's you don't know, they're probably my original songs".
A gifted songwriter in his own right, some of McGuinness' songs have been recorded and covered by other bands from his days spent in Arizona, California, Chicago and Dublin, Ireland. His debut CD titled 'Blue Diamond Revival' is available at Cdbaby.com.
When he's not on stage singing somewhere, McGuinness is either in a radio booth producing/hosting his internet radio talk show on Fearless Radio called 'Daytime Debauchery'. The show, which he started in June of '06, airs every Mon, Wed and Friday from 11 am - 2 pm Central Time and can be heard on the FearlessRadio.com website.
His passion goes beyond music and talk shows. "My first love of my life has always been baseball. Ever since I was a little kid I wanted to be a play-by-play announcer for the Chicago White Sox. What can I say, I'm a true Southsider".
McGuinness is currently working on an internship w/ the Joliet JackHammers baseball organization, (Northern League) as a Media Relations, Broadcast Assistant.
