The University of Manchester Conferences and Venues Launches Energiser Menu
Manchester, United Kingdom, January 02, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The University of Manchester Conferences and Venues, a site offering stylish facilities for a variety of meetings and events, has launched the new "Energiser" menu, which has been specially designed to maintain stable sugar levels and maximise delegates’ performance throughout the day.
The new "Energiser" menu has been carefully created to avoid the typical highs and lows caused by sugary foods and strong caffeinated drinks, and features a diverse selection of nutritional foods. Martin Smith, Executive Head Chef at the University of Manchester, designed the menu to feature foods which burn slowly in the body, keeping sugar levels balanced as a result. Martin joined the university in 2006, and is responsible for all food production right across the campus; he has worked in numerous leading hotels in the North West, including the four-star Palace Hotel in Manchester.
The "Energiser" menu includes fruits, yoghurt, wholewheat pasta, vegetables, seeds, humous, bulgar wheat, quinoa, banana bread and other nutritious dishes; the majority of ingredients are fresh and locally-sourced, with minimal processing.
“With the new ‘Energiser’ menu, we want to ensure delegates feel good and able to perform at their best throughout the day, which is better for everyone,” a spokesperson for The University of Manchester Conferences and Venues said. “Some venues often lay out simple coffee and pastries during breaks, which creates a massive sugar and caffeine rush for a few minutes, before leading to an inevitable feeling of sluggishness. The new ‘Energiser’ menu is focused on great taste and high nutrition to avoid a post-lunch slump during events, and we’re sure it will prove to be a great success.”
