A Dubai Based Photography Company Joins an International Charity Movement to Gift Free Photo Shoots
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, January 05, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Gul Photography, a Dubai based photography company, recently announced joining an international movement of photographers called The Olivia Act, to offer a free 30 minute session to a family who might not otherwise have the means to hire a professional to capture their family photos. The company is currently taking nominations for deserving families through their blog and social media.
The Olivia Act is named after one of the children killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy, according to reports, Olivia’s family had family pictures taken a short time before she was killed. Those pictures are now priceless as they are the last memory the family has of her.
An unknown photographer heard about Olivia’s story and was moved to give away a free 30 minute family photo shoot to another family in honor of Olivia. Consequently, it has challenged other photographers to do the same, including Gul Hassan of Gul Photography.
Once he heard about the movement in honor of Olivia, he knew he wanted to do the same and help out like hundreds of other photographers are doing around the world.
“We go about our daily lives, and sometimes, we don’t take the time or have the resources to have family photos taken,” said Gul.
Gul said that he will be taking nominations for a families based in Dubai through in the upcoming days. According to Gul, the sessions will take place sometime in 2013 and will be free to the family.
Gul Photography plans to do one mini-session every month during 2013. If you know of a deserving family that would appreciate this gift of memories, you are asked to contact Gul Photography through their website or email.
Nominations should be emailed to Gul Photography and have a subject titled "Olivia Act." All nominations should include a brief message on which family you're nominating and the reason why they deserve it.
The families chosen will be contacted via email, so please include their email address as well.
Nominations will be accepted January 1 through January 30.
