Houston Auto Windshield Repair Releases New Year Car Windshield Maintenance Guide
S Delta Auto Glass says drivers who follow the maintenance guide will prolong the life of their auto windshield and save money in the New Year
Houston, TX, January 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Houston auto windshield repair specialist, S Delta Auto Glass (http://www.autoglasshouston.net) has released an auto glass and windshield maintenance guide for Texas drivers.
Francisco Linares, owner of S Delta Auto Glass said the maintenance guide is aimed at those consumers who want to keep their car windshield looking great in the New Year.
“This is every driver in Texas because we know everyone wants to keep their car windshields looking and working as they should. The aim is to help these drivers know what to do in case of chips or cracks in the windshield or glass,” Linares said.
The Houston auto glass expert said the first thing Texas drivers need to know is that dirty windshields cost them money because it damages their windshield wipers.
“The first thing I will tell them is to keep their windshields clean. That may appear simple enough but you will be amazed at the number of cars out there driving around with very dirty windshields. That can be costly,” Linares continued.
He said windshield wipers are easily damaged by dusts and dirt stuck on dirty windshields and drivers who attempt to operate their dirty windshields often find that out the hard way.
“Most people find that out the hard way and usually when it is too late. They are constantly changing their windshield wipers and that is expensive. All they have to do to avoid this is to keep their windshields clean,” Linares added.
Linares advised Houston drivers to take care of rock chips on their windshields when they are still small enough to be inexpensive to fix.
“Most drivers ignore small rock chips on their windshields. What happens is that the chips gradually get bigger as the days wear on, then one day, they get into a dip in the road and the chip expands quickly. At that point, it becomes very expensive to fix. They could have avoided that by taking care of it earlier,” Linares said.
He said drivers can prolong the life of their auto glass by defrosting ice slowly from the windshield, using plastic scraper to remove stubborn ice and using windshield washer fluids formulated specifically for the winter cold.
“That is really important. Most drivers do not change their windshield washer fluids or use the one made for winter season. I will advise them to do so. This helps their windshield remain frost free and last longer,” Linares added.
