220 Communications Publishing Unit Enters Joint Venture for Domestic Violence Anthology

Chicago, IL, January 09, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Masterpiece Enterprises of Milwaukee, WI and 220 Communications of Chicago, IL announce a joint venture with each company’s publishing units to create Speak Your Peace, an anthology of writings from domestic violence survivors. The book is set to launch Feb. 22nd in conjunction with the “Speak Your Peace” weekend to raise awareness to the spread of domestic violence.

The Speak Your Peace series will involve a variety of contributors who have been affected by domestic violence and attack issues ranging from a adolescent to adult. The compilation of letters, poems and short stories are shared by individuals who have experienced issues as a result of having been a witness, victim or perpetrator of domestic violence.

The anthology is the idea of Masterpiece Enterprises President Jodine Basterash a survivor herself who became an advocate for those suffering the effects of domestic violence. Ms Basterash is a speaker, author and actress whose moving life story was detailed in the book Your Ruby’s Worth and the stage play Shattered but not Broken. The author recently spoke about the anthology and its purpose: “This special volume of Speak Your Peace will be the first of hopefully many as we enter the world of poetry and spoken word, survivor testimonies, letters and words of encouragement regarding domestic violence.”

The book will share the Masterpiece Publishing and 220 Publishing imprints and will be available internationally online and through retailers.
