About Dr. Stephen Katsinas
Dr. Stephen Katsinas is currently the Director of Education Policy and Professor of Higher Education Administration at the University of Alabama. He attained his B.A. in History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1978, his M.A. in History at Southern Illinois University in 1981 and his Ph.D. in Higher Education from Southern Illinois University in 1986. Dr. Katsinas’ professional career began in 1985 as Director at the Institute of Higher Education, University of Alabama. Since then, he has held positions as the Associate Director of Institutional Advancement at Miami-Dade College, Assistant Professor of Higher Education at Oklahoma State University, Professor of Higher Education at the University of Toledo and the Don A. Buchholz Chair of Higher Education and Director of the Bill J. Priest Center for Community College Education at the University of North Texas ending in 2005. He has many publications and presentations to his credit along with his research in History, Finance, and Access of Higher Education and Twentieth Century American Educational Policy.
