Minerva Powers Pan-Caribbean Broadband TV Service
Cable & Wireless Communication’s Caribbean division, LIME, has deployed Minerva iTVFusion to offer advanced pay TV services to its broadband subscribers.
Alviso, CA, January 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Minerva Networks, a leading provider of software solutions for the delivery of television services to connected devices, today announced that LIME, the largest telecommunication service provider in the Caribbean, has deployed Minerva iTVFusion to offer Broadband TV services within the region.
The Minerva platform, in combination with the latest adaptive bitrate and HTTP Live Streaming technologies, has enabled the Caribbean operator to offer robust pay TV services over its broadband network.
LIME TV subscribers in Barbados can instantly access over 130 linear channels and stream on-demand services via a seamless user interface. The new services, including VOD, HD, and DVR are enabling LIME to attract new subscribers and increase ARPU for existing customers.
“This partnership with Minerva Networks complements our service very well in terms of the stability of the transmission, the security of the content and, among other excellent provisioning support, we get to offer our customers all the latest features of a pay TV service,” explained Dianne Bissoon, LIME’s VP TV & Entertainment.
LIME’s basic TV service channel lineup includes programs from major U.S. networks such as ABC, CBS and NBC, sports from ESPN, music from MTV, children’s channel Nickelodeon, as well as news and lifestyle programs from Warner Brothers and BBC America. LIME has also launched LIMEstyle, its own channel for showcasing its latest products, services and promotions.
“We are thrilled that LIME is enjoying great success with our iTVFusion platform,” said Mauro Bonomi, CEO of Minerva Networks. “LIME required a solution that could increase the breadth of services for their subscribers, leverage their existing network infrastructure and allow scalability and ecosystem flexibility. Minerva was able to deliver on all requirements.”
