Endure to Cure Teams Up with World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation to Bring Awareness to Childhood Cancers
Los Angeles, CA, January 16, 2013 --(PR.com)-- World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation (World Wide) is joining with Endure to Cure (Endure) to battle childhood cancers through the award-winning film, Ways To Live Forever (www.waystoliveforevermovie.com), which is slated for release in 2013. Based on the acclaimed British children's novel by Sally Nicholls, the heartfelt motion picture tells the uplifting story of a plucky 12-year-old boy named Sam in his struggle with leukemia. The film follows Sam and his best friend Felix, also a cancer patient, through a series of particularly poignant and often humorous episodes as they explore the world around them, strive to fulfill their dreams, and make the most of the time that they have.
Ways To Live Forever will be released in select theaters throughout the US; a portion of box office is earmarked to benefit Endure to Cure Pediatric Cancer Foundation, as well as other cancer-related groups and organizations helping bring awareness to both the movie and its message. In addition, publisher Scholastic has plans for a re-issue of the best-selling novel (on which the film is based) both in paperback and as an eBook in anticipation of the film’s U.S. theatrical release. The eBook will include a number of enhancements, including stills from the production and other bonus features.
“Ways to Live Forever is a touching and inspiring motion picture. We are honored to be involved in such a special partnership that not only brings greater awareness to the trials and tribulations faced by children who are battling cancer, but also will help enable our programs to assist many more children and families than we otherwise would be able to do,” said Jason Sissel, Founder and President of Endure to Cure.
Ways to Live Forever stars critically acclaimed actors Ben Chaplin (The Thin Red Line, The Truth About Cats & Dogs), Greta Scacchi (The Player, Emma), Robbie Kay (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), Alex Etel (The Water Horse), Emilia Fox (Pride And Prejudice - BBC), and Ella Purnell (Intruders, Never Let Me Go). The growing list of international awards includes: Best Feature Film from the European Children’s Film Association, Best Picture at the Bordeaux International Festival of Women in Cinema, the Heartland Film Festival Audience Award, and the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival’s Adult Jury Prize.
“We are very proud to be associated with Endure to Cure in their efforts to support patients and families struggling with leukemia and other childhood cancers. We’re hopeful that by raising public awareness of organizations like Endure to Cure and the film Ways to Live Forever, we can help increase dollars for research and patient support -- both directly through our box office contribution and indirectly by bringing more attention to the message,” states Paul D. Hancock, President and CEO of World Wide.
