The Applications for the Tourism Media Award – THE GOLDEN CITY GATE 2013 Enter the Final Phase

This January, tourism companies still have the chance to submit their marketing campaigns for the annual Tourism Media Award – THE GOLDEN CITY GATE. The awarding ceremony during the ITB Berlin 2013 will again set new standards in the tourism marketing sector.

Berlin, Germany, January 17, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Whether it is a promotional film, website, print or online campaign or innovative marketing ideas such as roadshows and music videos, in 2013 the Tourism Media Award – THE GOLDEN CITY GATE again honors the outstanding marketing initiatives of the tourism industry. Until January 31st, 2013, destinations, tour operators, hotels, event locations as well as any other ‘tourism creators’ can submit their entries online at www.tourism-media-award.com/en or via mail. Furthermore, this year for the first time a special award will be given out among the previous award winners for ‘Most Views On Youtube’.

Wolfgang Jo Huschert, the initiator of the Tourism Media Award – THE GOLDEN CITY GATE, is optimistic for this year: “It is our goal for 2013 to exceed last year’s submissions of about 100 film and multimedia productions from 28 countries.” In this, he is strongly supported by his new cooperation partner, the tourism marketing agency COMPASS from Cologne, who is responsible for the brand-new internet presence of the Tourism Media Award, including website and facebook page.

The award ceremony and presentation of the winning entries is held on March 7th, 2013, during the International Tourism Fair (ITB) Berlin (ITB Cinema, hall 1.2). Since the entire tourism industry gets together on this occasion, the guest list each year represents the ‘who is who’ of the international tourism sector.

12 years of experience prove that the Tourism Media Award – THE GOLDEN CITY GATE brings a significant increase in publicity and recognition for the award winners, which is also due to the media coverage by CNN, BBC and ‘Deutsche Welle’ received in previous years. However, all participants and spectators benefit from the Tourism Media Award, as it provides an orientation platform for innovation and new benchmarks in tourism marketing. In this way the Tourism Media Award – THE GOLDEN CITY GATE promotes the steady improvement of marketing standards in the tourism industry.
