Invata Intralogistics Partners with ShopJimmy.com
Invata awarded multi-phase build out of fulfillment center infrastructure designed to accommodate aggressive growth of global online retailer.
Conshohocken, PA, January 18, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Invata Intralogistics, Inc., an innovative authority in the design, automation, implementation, and life cycle support of fulfillment center operations, today announced the commencement of a multi-phase build out of a new 289,000 sq ft fulfillment center for ShopJimmy.com’s North American operations in Burnsville, MN.
Invata’s initial involvement in the project was at the strategic planning phase. Having submitted a financial plan and fulfillment center design that would justify leaving a 3PL and best accommodate the company’s aggressive growth projections (ShopJimmy.com recently made Inc. 500’s fastest growing company list.), Invata then assisted in the site search. Once a building was chosen, Invata modified the design to the specific site.
The build out will feature AS/R shuttle technology, conveyors, sorters, pick-to-light, put-to-light, in-motion weighing, print/apply, expandable work station and processing capabilities, and a scalable inventory management system that will allow the current inventory of 400,000+ TV parts and accessories to more than double in the coming years.
The system will be powered by Invata’s own software suite that provides warehouse management, warehouse control, real-time material handling control, and transportation management in a single seamlessly integrated platform. The system is delivered with simple, scalable architecture, which will easily adapt to ShopJimmy.com’s current and future needs.
“ShopJimmy.com is one of the most exciting clients we’ve had the opportunity to work with,” said Ryan Sheehan, CEO of Invata. “The pace of their growth, acquisition strategy, and rate of change made the design process challenging and rewarding for our team and is cause for excitement going forward.”
Jimmy Vosika, Founder and Director of Partology at ShopJimmy.com said, “We needed to control our own destiny in fulfillment to provide the high level of customer service that ShopJimmy.com was founded on. We wanted a partner who could really understand our business, design for the future, and implement the system today. Throughout the process, Invata has stayed step-for-step with us and I look forward to their continued support as we grow in the future.”
