Artlightenment Begins Push Play Series
The Artlightenment artist showcase is famous for bringing all art forms together under one roof, and now it is launching a series of showcases for filmmakers.
Nashville, TN, January 18, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Artlightenment founder, artist and filmmaker, Robyn Morshead will be hosting a series of film screenings titled "Push Play Filmmakers Showcase."
The series begins February 4th and will continue the first Monday of each month at 7pm.
The February 4th screening will be “Loaded Behavior” by filmmaker Raquel Zemtsov. Zemstov and her leading lady, Carla Christina Contreras, were award winners at the 2012 Artlightenment Film Festival, bringing in the Audience Choice for Best Actress.
Bob Pondillo, Professor of Mass Media History and American Culture at MTSU, will be talking about the impact of student filmmakers on the local filmmaking scene. Marilyn Edwards, Director of Film and Special Events for the Mayor’s Office, will talk about film permits—why to get one and how to do so.
The evening will be hosted by Robyn Morshead with Jaz Dorsey from The Nashville Dramaturgy Project. They believe that Artlightenment is helping to connect filmmakers and industry professionals. “The idea is to spark creativity and collaboration amongst filmmakers and other artists in a grass roots activity,” says Morshead.
Films will be screened in the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre’s Community Hall, 1130 8th Avenue South, at 7:00 pm on Mondays, beginning February 4th. The screenings are held for the community, all up-and-coming and veteran filmmakers are welcome to attend. For more information contact Robyn Morshead at robynmorshead@gmail.com.
