2nd Annual Winter Festival at Evergreen Lake
Evergreen Park & Recreation District invites snow lovers and athletes to the 2nd Annual Winter Festival at Evergreen Lake, sponsored by Never Summer, on Sat., Feb. 9. The Festival features a Ski and Snowboard Rail Jam, Ice Bike Race, Fishing Derby, ice skating and more, just 35 minutes from Denver. Enjoy competitive snowman building, the Snow Castle Play Area, Snowflake Circus, snow slide, sleigh rides, dogsled rides, music, food, drink and more -- finishing with fireworks at night.
Evergreen, CO, January 19, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Winter sports athletes will have their chance to strut their best stuff and compete for valuable prizes at the 2nd Annual Winter Festival at Evergreen Lake, brought to you by Never Summer Industries and produced by Evergreen Park & Recreation District (EPRD), on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2013.
Amateur and pro skiers, snowboarders, mountain bikers and ice fishermen and women will compete on and around Evergreen Lake, just 35 minutes from downtown Denver, from 8 am until 10 pm.
Ice Bike Race
The Festival’s Ice Bike Race is a one-of-a-kind mountain bike race on trails carved out across Evergreen Lake. The event is expected to attract riders from across Colorado and beyond. Studded tires and spiked shoes are highly recommended for riders taking on the multi-lap course, which will include both land and ice obstacles. Yeti Cycles is providing prizes to the top three finishers in each division (Novice and Advanced), and Twenty-2 Cycles will have its fat bikes available for test riding. Entry includes two complimentary general admission tickets to the Winter Festival. The race starts at 9 am, and the cost to register is $25. Evergreen Park & Recreation District’s 2nd annual Ski and Snowboard Rail Jam Competition during Winter Festival at Evergreen Lake features amateurs during the day and experts at night under the lights, competing on ramps and rails on the hill above Evergreen Lake.
Rail Jam-Amateur -- 11:30 am-2:30 pm. The competition combines Rail Jam and Slopestyle formats, in four Divisions (Snowboarder Male, Snowboarder Female; Skier Male; and Skier Female). Advancement to Finals for 1st Place in each division; Prizes For 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place in each division. Application fee is $25. Entry includes two complimentary general admission tickets to Winter Festival.

Tightline Outdoors and Blue Quill Angler are sponsoring an Ice Fishing Derby at Winter Festival at Evergreen Lake. This professional quality tournament features valuable cash prizes! The event is limited to 100 anglers.
3-Hour Derby in designated area on the lake. The biggest trout by weight wins! No augers or shelters needed, only bring what you can carry. Holes will already be drilled. Each angler can weigh in three fish throughout the derby. Limited to 100 entries; registration is $35. The first 25 to sign up receive a custom Ice Fishing Jig!

Winter Fun
The Denver metro area’s premier winter sports and fun extravaganza also features an ice fishing derby, afternoon Fun Time, the Snowman Walk, Snow Castle Play Area, the Snowflake Circus, snow slide, tractor-pulled sleigh rides, music, food and drink -- and closes with a thrilling nighttime fireworks display over Evergreen Lake.
General admission tickets are just $10 for age 13 and over, 12 and under free. A limited number of VIP tickets – which feature a prime view of the Pro Rail Jam competition and fireworks, as well as a buffet dinner, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages -- are available for $50 for adults and $12.50 for kids.
