Online Women's Community Joins the Uprising: It's Time to End Rape

Tucson, AZ, January 20, 2013 --(PR.com)-- While it might be idealistic, isn't it time we unite and speak out in order to eradicate the culture of rape in our world?

"The End Of Rape" is the topic of the month that the Women on the Verge (WOTV) members will explore via their online community blogs, Twitter, Vlogs and BlogTalkRadio show. They will be joining their voices to an already existing campaign by women worldwide, using the hashtag #2013EndofRape.

"According to a report by the CDC, it has been found that 20% of approximately 5,000 women on 138 college campuses experienced rape during the course of their lifetime. As it turns out, this is the most unreported crime, and in some areas of the world it's the most indefinable crime. This is a crime that not only affects women, boys and men have also been subject to this violence, majority of which, have also gone unreported. We need to put the spotlight on this violation and oppression of our sisters and brothers and help to eradicate it. Too many lives have been shattered and lost to this horrific crime and it needs to stop," says WOTV founder Ana Lewis about the topic of the month.
