Bayer MaterialScience Purchases Land Adjacent to Its South Deerfield Site
Pittsburgh, PA, January 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Bayer MaterialScience LLC today announced it has completed the purchase of nearly 11 acres of land located directly adjacent to its South Deerfield Site. This investment in additional land demonstrates Bayer’s commitment to the Functional Films NAFTA business and allows for future expansion of the site. This follows other investments over the past several years that further expanded and improved specialty film production capabilities at the site.
“Bayer MaterialScience is committed to its specialty films business in North America, and this land purchase supports our future growth plans for this important region,” said Dr. Shaun Gaus, general manager, Functional Films NAFTA, Bayer MaterialScience LLC. The South Deerfield facility manufactures and sells thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), polycarbonate (PC) and polycarbonate blend, and other specialty film and sheet for use in various market segments, including medical, automotive, sports/recreation, and safety & security.
