Dr. Robert Niedbalski Elected to Board of American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery

Tacoma, WA, January 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Robert Niedbalski, D.O., renowned hair transplant surgeon and medical director for Northwest Hair Restoration in Tacoma, WA, has been elected to a three year term on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS), the certifying board for hair replacement surgery. Dr. Niedbalski was selected for this position because of his dedication to training physicians for over ten years in the art and science of hair restoration surgery, his participation in on-going training, research and education in the field and his role as a frequent presenting speaker for the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS). The board convenes five times a year.

For a doctor to receive a certification as a diplomate of ABHRS, they must demonstrate training, evidence of post-training experience and successful completion of written and oral examinations on the entire scope of the hair restoration specialty. The certification exam is offered annually each year and a recertification exam must be taken every ten years in order to remain a diplomate.

The ABHRS is the only certification recognized by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery -the largest hair restoration educational organization in the world. In 2000, at the request of the president of the European Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, the ABHRS began to offer its international candidates the option of having their certificates read “International Board of Hair Restoration Surgery.” A certificate with this designation certifies successful completion of the same credentialing and examination process as the diplomats of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery. The ABHRS exam stands as the only psychometrically and statistically validated examination dedicated to the specialty of hair restoration surgery.
