Old Hook Medical Associates - American College of Radiology Accreditation
Old Hook Medical Associates proudly announces that they have been awarded a three year term of accreditation in ultrasound by American College of Radiology (ACR).
Emerson, NJ, January 26, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Old Hook Medical Associates (OHM) has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in ultrasound as the result of an extensive review by the American College of Radiology (ACR). It is awarded only to facilities and practices meeting ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards. This gold seal accreditation represents that OHM has achieved the highest level of image quality and patient safety in sonography.
Ultrasound imaging (sonography) uses high frequency sound waves to produce images in real time of body structures and organs. The resulting images are used by Old Hook Medical physicians to diagnose certain illnesses, visualize the extent of injuries, and track the progression of existing diseases. Ultrasound procedures are non-invasive and generally painless. Ultrasound gives clinicians a powerful and sophisticated tool that can be used to manage a wide rage of conditions including heart disease and peripheral vascular disease.
Dr. Edward Gold, VP and Chief Medical Officer of Old Hook Medical commented: "We embrace today's new technologies such as ultrasound because they help us diagnose problems early. If we can prevent a patient from suffering a stroke because we found a problem through a carotid ultrasound, then everyone wins. We want our patients to be as healthy as they can be and early detection of problems is part of that effort."
Old Hook Medical Associates is a multi-specialty healthcare practice and Patient-Centered Medical Home where primary care, specialty physicians, nurse practitioners, and other medical professionals work together under one roof. OHM has also been recognized by the National Council for Quality Assurance in three areas: Patient-Centered Medical Home, Diabetes, and Heart/Stroke Care. Through an environment of close cooperation among colleagues, coupled with a cutting edge system of electronic health records, Old Hook Medical delivers outstanding medical care to residents of Bergen and Rockland counties.
