After graduating from Moneague Teachers' College, she taught for several years in Kingston and Manchester before migrating to the US in 1987, where she earned a Doctorate degree in Organizational Leadership from Nova South Eastern University. She is a Literacy Coach with Broward County Public Schools and she is an active member of the Eliathah Seventh Day Adventist Church, in Tamarac, Florida.
