Cheer Channel Sets Beth Sepko for Casting Duties for Secret Diary 2: the Fierce One

Casting for Hit Web-Series Draws Actors Nationwide

Austin, TX, February 01, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Cheer Channel Inc. (CCI), the #1 online entertainment and news network for the spirit industry, has brought in Beth Sepko as the casting director for the second season of its hit web-series, Secret Diary of an American Cheerleader 2: The Fierce One.

Beth Sepko has worked with ABC and the CW and has done casting for major television series including Friday Night Lights, The Lying Game, and Dallas as well as major motion pictures Machete, Sin City, The Rookie, Spy Kids, Spy Kids 2, Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over. Sepko is the owner of Beth Sepko Casting and Third Coast Extras casting agency in Austin, Texas. Sepko is known for her keen eye for up and coming stars, casting Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, and others in their first roles.

Sepko is passionate about her casting work in Texas, saying, "There is a terrific talent pool in Austin and the surrounding cities for teen and young adult actors." She further commented, "Cheerleader roles are always fun to cast since Texas is really the cheerleading capitol of the world. It is not unusual to find actors, both guys and girls, that have done some All-Star or high school cheerleading."

Cheer Channel has held open casting calls in various cities and various events around the US throughout October and November, including Los Angeles, seeking 4 principal lead actors who may have some cheer or dance experience. At many locations, more than 200 actors and cheerleaders lined up for their auditions. The Cheerleader Casting Agency also helped CCI organize the Secret Diary 2 open casting calls.

Although Secret Diary of an American Cheerleader was filmed in Los Angeles, California in the summer of 2012, Executive Producer Lance Robbins decided to film Season 2 in Austin, Texas. "Austin has such an outstanding and cooperative film community with great facilities and talented crew, not to mention outstanding cheer gyms and beautiful outdoor locations that will give a fresh and unique look for a series like this," said Robbins.

Secret Diary was the first web-series targeted specifically to cheerleaders, teen and tweens and fans of cheerleading that also cast current All-Stars and "Superstars of All-Stars" of the industry as actors and guest stars. Secret Diary 2: The Fierce One is poised to deliver even more drama and cheerleading action than Season 1 which has over 1.1 million views to date across various social media platforms.
