Action Storage Announces Success for New Injection Moulded Extreme Plastic Lockers®
Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, February 02, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Action Storage, a leading supplier of shelving and storage systems, announce future plans to replace the Rotational Moulding eXtreme plastic lockers® with an Injection Moulded version.
Tom Brialey, Action Storage System's Director, made a significant visit to China in October 2012 to inspect the first commercial run on the Injection Moulded (IM) version of the eXtreme plastic lockers®. The IM lockers are set to replace the Rotational Moulding (RM) eXtreme plastic lockers® which have been manufactured in the UK for the last five years.
The IM eXtreme plastic lockers® were created as the company wanted to find ways to manufacture the product at a fast and cost effective rate. While the RM version is still currently in production, the IM model is set to replace it over the next few years. Action Storage can now confidently export the eXtreme plastic lockers® to markets in the Far East, including China, as the products can be manufactured more competitively and to a higher quality standard in China.
At present there are three models of the locker, but only the tooling for the small 450mm high version has been developed in IM; however, the other two models will follow in 2013. A big feature of the locker systems is that they can be featured outside because they are not susceptible to corrosion. Saddleworth School, Oldham, was the first customer to take delivery of the innovative new product, as 840 lockers were installed outdoors by Connect Office Services.
A spokesperson for Action Storage commented: "The examination for the first production run was a complete success. The manufacturing process for the IM model is very different to that of the RM model, and severe technical challenges arose but were subsequently overcome. The other striking benefit of the IM locker is the reduced variation on tolerance compared with the RM model. We look forward to introducing the new systems into our product range, as we are confident they will prove to be very popular with our customers."
