About Bettie M. Steinberg
Bettie M. Steinberg is Chief Scientific Officer at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research. Dr. Steinberg earned a Bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Riverside, a Master’s degree in Biology from Adelphi University and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the State University of New York, Stony Brook, for her work on bacterial viruses. Dr. Steinberg did a fellowship studying mammalian tumor viruses at the State University of New York, Stony Brook. Dr. Steinberg is the recipient of numerous awards for her work in medical research, including the Robert K. Match Distinguished Scientist Award, the Elliot Osserman Award from the Israel Cancer Research Fund and the Long Island Achiever in Science Award from the Long Island Center for Business and Professional Women. Dr. Steinberg is Chair of the Department of Molecular Medicine at North Shore/Long Island Jewish School of Medicine at Hofstra University. She is Dean of the Elmezzi Graduate School of Molecular Medicine. Dr. Steinberg is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research and the American Society for Microbiology.
