Cross Key Compliance to Present at Oxford University (England) at the Annual Business Plan Competition

Cross Key Compliance was chosen as a semi-finalist to present at the Said Business School at Oxford, England in February 2007.

Kansas City, MO, February 25, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Aaron Weissenfluh and Jeff Pittman were selected as finalists for the annual business plan competition at the Said School of Business at Oxford University in Oxford, England early last week. Their company, Cross Key Compliance, was selected from over 80 entrants to present in the semi-final round on the 28th of February 2007. Pittman and Weissenfluh will be traveling to Oxford on the 26th of February to present to a panel that includes Sir Philip Green, the fourth wealthiest man in Britain and David Bonderman, who serves on the board of directors of such companies as Bell & Howell Company, Ducati Motorcycles and Washington Mutual Inc.

Cross Key Compliance was founded by Pittman and Weissenfluh to meet the increasing need of information security compliance. Government and private organizations throughout the world are required to meet standards of security compliance or face the ever present threat of security breaches followed by fines and even criminal prosecution. Cross Key Compliance has automated the process of the complex security requirements and documentation presented by several different government and standards organizations and should fare well in the international competition. Four of the ten entrants will present a second time on March 1st to the entire Said Business School while the winner of the competition will receive up to 50,000 pounds (approximately $100,000).

“Our new business has a large market that includes practically every company that processes credit cards worldwide,” said Cross Key CEO Aaron Weissenfluh. “The new Visa Payment Card Industry Security Standard or PCI DSS requires that all companies that process credit cards meet certain security requirements. Our software solution automates that compliance process removing the need for expensive and time consuming consultants. We’re basically Turbo Tax for security compliance.”

Another edge that provides Cross Key with a great opportunity of success is that their software solution greatly reduces the overhead for companies providing automated compliance with several governmental and organizational security compliance laws and standards.

“The software will automate the compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, which applies to all publicly traded companies, Visa PCI, which applies to all credit card processors, HIPAA, which applies to all health care and insurance organizations and FISMA which applies to all non-DOD government bureaus, agencies and departments,” said Cross Key COO Jeff Pittman.

“As we progress, we’ll integrate the remaining standards and laws while updating the software with new security compliance laws and standards that have yet to be written. The information required to comply with the different laws and standards is very similar, yet our software intelligently applies wording to ensure compliance with a single data set.”

Pittman, who holds a master’s from MIT and earned his MBA from Oxford University reunited with Weissenfluh in early 2006 to begin the creation of this company. Weissenfluh, who earned his MBA from the University of Phoenix and his bachelor’s from DeVry University had been working as an expert security consultant for several years in the government sector. Both had been speaking over several years in hopes of working together to form a company. “We were just waiting for the right time, the right concept and the right market. Jeff (Pittman) and I work so well together and have been the best of friends since 8th grade so it was simply a matter of time,” said Weissenfluh.

Pittman stated quite simply “We’ve got the right market, the right solution and the right team to win this competition, but more importantly, we’ve got an opportunity to create a very successful company.”
