Cross Key Compliance Places 5th at Oxford Business Plan Contest

Kansas City, MO, February 28, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Jeff Pittman and Aaron Weissenfluh presented today at the Said Business School at Oxford University in Oxford, England and earned high marks for their business plan, business concept and presentation from both faculty and staff. Stephen Todd, associate fellow at the Said Business School had words of encouragement for Pittman and Weissenfluh as he stated “you’ve got a great idea with loads of promise.”

Student Judge, Heidi Franklin who is originally from San Francisco, California was very excited about the Cross Key Compliance software solution and business model. As a Deloitte consultant who is taking a break to earn her MBA, she stated “I’m sure I’ll see you selling your software to Deloitte in the next year. You two will do very well in the security compliance market.”

With ten finalists in the annual business plan competition, the field was full of very strong candidates, many of whom were already conducting business and moving towards profitability. The initial field of submissions included over 80 businesses that were vying for a top ten spot for the opportunity to earn investment in the amount of 50,000 pounds British (approximately) $100,000.

“This was the validation that we needed to prove to ourselves that the business model, market and time was right to make this business a reality,” said Cross Key CEO Aaron Weissenfluh. “While we’re disappointed that we did not win, we’re excited that we finished fifth out of so many strong business plans.”

The winning business was a company that has been in business for over a year. That company,

Pittman, who holds a master’s from MIT and earned his MBA from Oxford University reunited with Weissenfluh in early 2006 to begin the creation of this company. Weissenfluh, who earned his MBA from the University of Phoenix and his bachelor’s from DeVry University had been working as an expert security consultant for several years in the government sector. Both had been speaking over several years in hopes of working together to form a company. “We were just waiting for the right time, the right concept and the right market. Jeff (Pittman) and I work so well together and have been the best of friends since 8th grade so it was simply a matter of time,” said Weissenfluh.

Pittman stated quite simply “We’ve got the right market, the right solution and the right team to win this competition, but more importantly, we’ve got an opportunity to create a very successful company.”
