Capita Announce Details of Their Raising School Standards in Wales Conference

The conference will showcase best practice examples from primary and secondary schools on delivering key areas of the School Standards and Organisation Bill.

London, United Kingdom, February 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Capita’s 2nd Raising School Standards in Wales Conference, taking place in Cardiff on Tuesday 30th April, provides a practical learning forum to help drive up standards and performance in both primary and secondary schools.

Scheduled as the School Standards and Organisation Bill is considered in the National Assembly for Wales, this conference features outstanding case studies from leading schools and guidance from educational experts. This timely event is designed to help you meet and exceed the expectations of the Bill and to implement the new National Literacy and Numeracy Framework (LNF).

The LNF and reading and numeracy tests will become a statutory curriculum requirement for pupils from Reception to Year 9 from September 2013. The Welsh Government has set a sense of urgency with goals for Wales to be among the world’s top 20 nations for reading, with 65% of pupils achieving A* to C grades at GCSE by 2015.

The conference will showcase best practice examples to meet these challenging targets, including;
• Increasing levels of literacy and numeracy
• Reducing the impact of poverty through effective use of the Pupil Deprivation Grant (PDG)
• Improving secondary school banding by raising attendance and achieving the Level 2 threshold in English and Maths
• Strengthening local authority support and challenge for school improvement

Attend to ensure you are prepared for these reforms that mark a significant change to the wider curriculum and assessment arrangements for schools.
