GOWEX Extends Its Smart WiFi Service to Major Cities in Belgium

GOWEX (GOW-MAB, ALGOW-NYSE Alternext), leader in creating WiFi Smart Cities (Wireless Smart Cities®) and WiFi Intelligent Transports, has signed an agreement with the Belgian company Win, operator and integrator of ICT services. This strategic alliance will allow GOWEX expand its sustainable Wi-Fi model in more than 200 Belgian cities in the years to come.
Win belongs to the Belgian industrial group Tecteo, subsidiary of Voo, the main telecom operator (triple play) in Wallonia and Brussels.
"WiFi Urban Hotspot"
To promote intelligent services in cities, Win, in partnership with Cisco and GOWEX, has developed an innovative solution for connectivity: "WUH" (Wi-Fi Urban Hotspot), which allows citizens to connect to free Wi-Fi urban areas. The WUH connection service will be managed and self-financed through GOWEX Proprietary Platforms – Geo localized Advertising and Roaming- and through revenues generated by users who subscribe to the Premium service Connection.

Seraing, pioneer city in Wi-Fi
Seraing, located in the province of Liege, with more than 60,000 inhabitants will be the first Belgian city equipped and will test the WUH connection service, which will be gradually expanded in major cities in Wallonia and Brussels.

The Wi-Fi Urban Hotspot (WUH solution) will be presented next February 7 and 8, as part of the event "Salon des Mandataires" which takes place in the city of Namur (Wierde). The main representatives of the public sector in Wallonia, as well as leading companies in the development of innovative solutions for the effective management of cities will be present at this event.
