Dr. Larry Saylor Learns Latest Technique in Bonded Porcelain Restoration

Dr. Saylor was one of three American dentists to attend the Interdisciplinary Dental Education Academy’s (IDEA) “Predictable Aesthetics and Longevity with Bonded Porcelain Restorations: The Ultimate Program for Dentists and Dental Technicians,” a course on the latest developments in anterior bonded restorations. The course, which was attended by dentists from around the world, was taught by dental-adhesion authority Dr. Pascal Magne and Michel Magne, MDT early last month.
“Staying current on the latest research, materials and techniques in cosmetic dentistry is an important step to ensuring that your patients receive the best cosmetic dental care available,” said Dr. Saylor. “This course was a great addition to my education because it taught me about the latest materials and techniques available in preparing porcelain restorations.”
The techniques taught by Dr. Magne utilize the latest concepts in dental adhesion, which will allow cosmetic dentists to bond porcelain restorations to the existing tooth structure, allowing dentists to be more conservative in the amount of tooth structure they take away. Utilizing these techniques and technology can result in less root canals and implants.
“This technique is a game changer in terms of how I will prepare porcelain restorations,” said Dr. Saylor. “By applying the proper principles of adhesion, I will be able to maintain the original strength of the tooth and even add to that strength with the restoration.”
