Willie Macc Lands Role in Major Movie, a Spoof of "The 300"
Los Angeles, CA, July 31, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Funny man Willie Macc (www.myspace.com/kingonthemic) has signed on to appear in "Hunting and Fishing," a big-screen spoof of "The 300." A surprise megahit, "The 300" told the story of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae between soldiers from Sparta and the troops led by leader of the Persian empire, Cyrus The Great.
"Hunting and Fishing" was written by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, successful movie industry vets that previously collaborated with family comedic duo Marlon and Shawn Wayans on "Scary Movie" and brought "Date Movie" and "Epic Movie" to the big screen. Friedberg and Seltzer will also direct and produce the upcoming movie.
Known best from his role on BET's highest rated reality series, College Hill Virgin Islands, Willie Macc has appeared on CSI and BET's Take the Cake. He has also become a crowd favorite at open mic nights around Los Angeles and had roles in several independent films.
Although still a newcomer to the Hollywood scene, Willie Macc's addition to the "Hunting and Fishing" cast marks his first appearance in a major studio movie.
When asked about how bright his future appears to be, the incessant comedian replied "...man, I'm just happy to be here..." Willie Macc eloborated further by saying, "Seriously though, I'm really looking forward to it. Although this role is really small, it has lead to other opportunities for me."
The talented actor-comedian will also have an opportunity to learn the tricks of the trade from veteran actors and fellow "Hunting and Fishing" cast members Kevin Sorbo ("Hercules"), Diedrich Bader ("The Beverly Hillbillies") and Carmen Electra ("Cheaper By the Dozen 2").
The movie began shooting in July in Louisiana. Willie Macc is scheduled to join the production in early August.
