Innovation Direct™ Co-Inventors File Provisional Application for Patent on Prohut Invention

Miami, FL, February 09, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Innovation Direct™, a leader in the invention assistance field since 1997, recently facilitated the process of the filing of a provisional application for a patent for Massachusetts residents and co-inventors Paul McGuire and Daniel Caldwell on their Prohut invention upon their request. The Prohut is an innovative new product designed to address an important matter related to heating appliances. The product’s unique design allows for furnaces to have their own conditioned place and in the process, effectively addresses a common problem related to their operation.

Mr. McGuire and Mr. Caldwell initially submitted information about the Prohut to Innovation Direct™ in October 2012 on the company’s Confidential Product Outline. Innovation Direct™ screened the invention to insure that it did not fall into a restricted category, and one of the company’s New Project Directors discussed the product further with the inventor. Shortly thereafter, a Product Management Services Agreement proposal that is intended to provide the Prohut with the optimal level of exposure to potential licensees through a variety of promotional and descriptive materials, including press releases, a digital rendition, an online product profile, an interactive virtual reality presentation, and participation in multiple and diverse industry-leading trade shows each year, was presented to Mr. McGuire and Mr. Phillips. Exhibits that Innovation Direct™ has attended in recent years include the SHOT Show, the International Home and Housewares Show, the National Hardware Show, Licensing International, the SEMA and AAPEX Shows and the ERA D2C Convention.

In November 2012, Mr. McGuire and Mr. Caldwell opted to contract Innovation Direct™ to represent the Prohut to potential licensees for a 2 year period under the terms of the Product Management Services Agreement. The terms of the agreement also included Innovation Direct™ referring Mr. McGuire and Mr.Caldwell to an independent patent law firm for the filing of a provisional application for a patent on the Prohut. The application was officially filed on January 2, 2013 and is valid for the term of one year. Prior to its expiration, Mr. McGuire and Mr. Caldwell will have to decide whether or not to opt to have the independent patent law firm convert the application to a non-provisional version.
