Engineered Software, Inc. Joins Pump Systems Matter™

Lacey, WA, August 02, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Engineered Software, Inc., makers of Pipe-Flo® and Pump-Flo™ software, announced today its sponsorship of the educational organization, Pump Systems Matter™ (PSM). Engineered Software, Inc., also a member of the Hydraulic Institute, has joined forces with industry members to focus on education and outreach within the pump systems industry.

The PSM initiative was launched by the Hydraulic Institute in 2004 as the first industry-led market transformation – from one of equipment first costs to one based on system life cycle costs. PSM is focused primarily on pump systems education and outreach, addressing energy savings opportunities and total cost of pump ownership.

“Pump Systems Matter allows us to be further involved in helping to reduce energy consumption and cost among end-users…,” said Ray Hardee, Chief Engineer for Engineered Software, Inc. “Pipe-Flo software falls right in line with what they are doing, and we thought there was no better platform than energy reduction and system efficiency.”

Department of Energy studies have shown that better system design and more effective application of pumps can usually save 20% or more in energy costs and represent a large, frequently overlooked savings opportunity. With recent increases in energy costs, Engineered Software aims to offer users valuable, bottom-line oriented energy savings opportunities, through the full understanding of fluid piping systems.

Engineered Software has many software packages that aid in the designing and simulation of fluid piping systems, and all have the common application of lowering energy consumption, improving the bottom-line of system operation while providing a clear picture of the total piping system.

“By getting people to understand and actually see how their piping system is operating, users can make more accurate changes and improve their systems using Pipe-Flo Software,” Hardee added.

The Pipe-Flo product line is used by designers and operators to gain a clear picture of their fluid piping systems. The program allows users to design, analyze, troubleshoot, and simulate their fluid piping systems in a familiar format. The software also calculates system operations, allows for easy communication of the system design with others and provides access to supporting documents in an electronic format.
