About the Book (Excerpts & Info)

Until now the St. Valentines Day Massacre was an unsolved murder case.
There have been books written and both documentaries and movies made on this subject matter but they for the most part have been misleading the public as to what really happened at one of the most infamous unsolved murder cases of all time.

We have the confidence to say that what you are considering purchasing will definitely change your opinion on what you’ve been led to believe for all these years about this most tragic day in American History.

We will not only show you who were involved, such as the Purple Gang in Detroit and a small group partly from St. Louis, but why George ‘Bugs’ Moran was not a target but a co-conspirator. We show why it was done and also how they were able to pull it off. We will also explain why the Government, J. Edgar Hoover in particular, was behind covering up the truth.

This book is not only about Al Capone and the ‘St. Valentines Day Massacre’ in Chicago but also about the rise of organized crime starting with the Mustache Pete’s of the late 1800’s and early 1900’s to the organization of the National Syndicate in the late 20’s and early30’s. We show how most of the prominent gangsters of New York, Detroit, Chicago and St. Louis among others came together to create this Union and how it was the Jewish gangsters influence that turned crime into an organized business which to this day their methods are still practiced.

Also included is how the Kennedy family came upon their fame and fortune and how many celebrities have been touched by those involved in organized crime such as singer/comedian Joe E. Lewis, Charlie Chaplin, Sophie Tucker, Milton Berle, Red Skelton and Frank Sinatra to name a few.

Deftly constructed at 132 pages, 'Chi-Town Slaughter' Uncensored is being aggressively promoted to appropriate markets with a focus on the History - American History category. With U.S. wholesale distribution through Ingram and Baker & Taylor, and pervasive online availability through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and elsewhere, 'Chi-Town Slaughter' Uncensored meets consumer demand through both retail and library markets with a suggested retail price of $19.95.

Additionally, 'Chi-Town Slaughter' Uncensored can be ordered by retailers or wholesalers for the maximum trade discount price set by the author in quantities of ten or more from the Outskirts Press wholesale online bookstore at www.www.outskirtspress.com/buybooks

About the Author

Rusty C. Oswalt
I was born in Detroit and have lived here off and on most of my life. When I was a kid my uncle told me stories about how the 'Purple Gang' were the main whiskey supply to all of Detroit and to Al Capone.

As I got older I never forgot all the stories that I thought were just tales told to the family after the beer and whiskey had been drank for a few rounds.
When I was in my early 20's I met a man by the name of Irving 'The Bulldog' Gold. He at the time was an old man but you could see that in his younger days he was a big man. We were introduced and it came up that he, in his younger days, was part of the 'Purple Gang.' I had a couple of drinks with him and I brought up my uncle's name. After he took a long smoke of his cigar he smiled and said, "yeah, I knew him when he started out as a young punk. He was the toughest little man I ever saw in my life." I told him the stories that were told to the family and he said, "They were all true."

So I would like to thank my uncle "Little George Miotkie" for starting me out on the real truth about this the "St. Valentine's Day Massacre."

Eric Andrew Wadley
I was born in Livonia, Michigan before our family moved to Northern California in the early to mid 70's. My family then returned to Michigan, to which I've lived since 1978.

Years ago my associate mentioned that he wanted to write a book about the St. Valentines Day Massacre. I believe my exact words were, "What is that about?" his reply was that seven man were gunned down in Chicago by Al Capone's men and that no one was ever convicted.

We never talked about it until about a year and a half ago when he once again mentioned it. We didn't pursue it then because we were in the middle of a business deal that eventually fell through not only due to the possible investor's greed, but because of the reason that helped inspire me to write this book. After spending 10 to 12 weeks and hundreds of hours trying to help put a business together, the investor told my partner to offer me $200-$300 and to tell me to get lost. Needless to say that was more than enough inspiration needed to try to come up with the money necessary to not involve any greedy, selfish and unappreciative investor.

Like anyone else I wanted to write a successful book but it was very hard to sell myself on the fact of not only was I capable of this endeavor but was the material good enough.

Once I realized that this was worthwhile to try to accomplish, I still approached it with some reservation. It was probably because although my partner knew a lot of things before we started this, I didn't know anything. I would be surprised if I could have named 10 people involved in Organized Crime before we started. I kind of figured what could we tell people about a crime that crime historians have analyzed and talked about for over 75 years.

We had no idea what we were going to actually end up thoroughly writing about the massacre itself until near the end when everything started to fit together like a jigsaw puzzle.

After finishing this book I feel that it was more than worth all the time and thought I put into this project. Although it was mostly exhausting it was at the same time refreshing knowing that such an accomplishment will shed some light and open debate on a topic that people have been kept in the dark about for too long.
