Raising Heart Awareness in February has Special Significance for Local Hospital
Advocate Christ Medical Center Announces its Participation in National EECP® Therapy Week.
Oak Lawn, IL, February 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- In honor of the national recognition of February known as American Heart Month, Advocate Christ Medical Center announced today that they will participate in an event at their center as part of EECP® Therapy Week from February 18th - 22nd, 2013. The center will celebrate on Tuesday, February 19th with a breakfast and information in their physician lounge to raise awareness and updates about their EECP® Therapy program.
The International EECP® Therapists Association (IETA), the national organization of EECP® therapists and other healthcare professionals who provide EECP® Therapy in hospitals, clinics and private practices have declared this, the last full week in February, the Second Annual EECP® Therapy Week. EECP® therapy centers around the country and some participating centers overseas will host events and conduct activities designed to increase the public’s awareness of EECP® therapy and the role it plays in cardiovascular disease management.
As an experienced center for Enhanced External Counterpulsation (EECP®), Advocate Christ Medical Center has performed more than 5000 treatments since 1999. Patients have shown significant relief of their symptoms, and improvement in their activity levels after completing a course of therapy. Treatment is provided by trained and experienced RN's under the medical direction of Dr. Marc Silver. The hospital invites patients to contact them to schedule a treatment or to ask question about their EECP® Therapy program.
For patients who are experiencing the symptoms of angina and heart failure, EECP® Therapy is an FDA cleared, Medicare approved, noninvasive outpatient therapy. There are approximately 600 EECP® Therapy centers in the United States and over 250 outside the USA in countries around the world on every continent, with the exception of Antarctica.
