Go Au Pair Announces Au Pair in Excellence Award
Salt Lake City, UT, February 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Each year Go Au Pair recognizes the hard work and dedication of its Au Pairs through its Au Pair in Excellence Award. Host Families are asked to send in photos, videos and a nomination essay to share how their Au Pair has impacted their lives and why their Au Pair deserves to be recognized as the Au Pair of the Year. With a record number of nominations, Go Au Pair would like to formally recognize:
Phila Sozombile, from South Africa, as its 2013 Au Pair in Excellence winner. Phila will be given a $200 American Express gift card and her Host Family, the Griffith/Faux household in Philadelphia will be awarded $200 American Express gift card and will be given $500 off of their next year’s placement fees.
“I know that the day that we matched with Phila was probably one of the luckiest things ever to happen to our family. For the light and love she has brought into our home and for the positive influence she has been on the life and character of my daughters,” said Host Mom Nicole Faux. Phila took over care in a particularly hard time when Nicole had recently become a single mom.
Of her Host Family Phila says she couldn’t have asked for a better family. Phila tells other Au Pairs that, “The most important thing is the joy that you bring to your host family by taking care of their precious children.”
Of her experience in the United States, Phila said she has learned a lot. “I finally found myself. It took me being away from what I thought was my comfort zone to actually realize that the comfort zone is within myself.”
Go Au Pair’s runner up is Karla Adriana Lacomba Lopez from Mexico with the Weintraub family in Georiga. Both Host Host Family and Au Pair will receive a $100 American Express gift card.
“So many families have extraordinary Au Pairs,” Devon Kapler, Executive Director of Go Au Pair. “It’s great that we can take this opportunity to really recognize their efforts.”
Go Au Pair is one of the original Au Pair Program sponsors designated by the department of State in 1989. There are Go Au Pair representatives in over 50 countries on six different continents and in more than 100 American cities. Their company headquarters is in Salt Lake City, Utah.
