Philadelphia Eagles Darnerien McCants to Host First Annual Coat Drive
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Darnerien McCants will host his first Annual Coat Drive on Tuesday, December 13th from 6:00am to 7:00pm to benefit the Salvation Army. The Coat Drive will take place at Sneaker Villa, located at 1231 North Broad Street in Philadelphia.
Philadelphia, PA, December 09, 2005 --(PR.com)-- Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Darnerien McCants will host his first Annual Coat Drive on Tuesday, December 13th from 6:00am to 7:00pm to benefit the Salvation Army. The Coat Drive will take place at Sneaker Villa, located at 1231 North Broad Street in Philadelphia.
McCants, has teamed up with the #1 station in the market, 100.3 The Beat for a live broadcast of the event. Radio personalities scheduled to participate in the broadcast are Monie and Pooch, DJ Touchtone, and Colby Colb.
“The Salvation Army has been providing clothing, furniture, household items, and toys to more than 100 affected families relocated to our area,” states Major Jorge E. Diaz, director of operations for The Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia. “Additionally, Salvation Army personnel have been providing crisis counseling and assisting the families in the transition to their new surroundings.”
“I realize that there are still many evacuees from the Hurricanes living in Philadelphia. Many of them have never experienced a winter like this and will be in need of a good coat. I’m determined to help make that happen for them and others that need help keeping warm this winter.” McCants further states “I’m also encouraging my teammates to dig in their closets and give up coats they never use or wear.”
