KonaKart v6.5 with State of the Art Storefront
DS Data Systems is proud to announce a new release of its increasingly popular KonaKart eCommerce software.

KonaKart is a Java / JSP / XML based solution with comprehensive easy to use java, SOAP, RMI, JSON and JavaScript APIs that allow you to quickly integrate eCommerce functionality into your existing systems. The customizable parts of KonaKart are Open Source and available under the GNU LGPL.
The main highlight of v6.5.0.0 is the new storefront application which has been completely redesigned. It now has a very appealing modern interface which makes use of AJAX and JavaScript to reduce the number of screen refreshes and to provide dynamic features which enhance usability and greatly improve the overall shopping experience. The new storefront is built upon the Apache Struts 2 MVC framework which is a widely used open-source framework for developing Java EE web applications. Punchout functionality complying with the OCI release 4.0 specs has been added. This is popular with corporate customers since it allows them to purchase products directly from within their ERP systems.
The product search engine has been upgraded to Apache Solr 4.0. There have also been improvements in the functionality offered for indexed and faceted product searching.
The customer communication subsystem has been enhanced. There are now many more options available for sending out emails.
