Barking Rain Press has acquired the worldwide print and electronic publishing rights for the high-tech suspense novel "Learning Curve: A Novel of Silicon Valley," from legendary Silicon Valley journalist, author, and entrepreneur Michael S. Malone. Publication for both the print and eBook formats of Learning Curve is anticipated for late spring 2013.
Vancouver, WA, February 19, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Barking Rain Press, a non-profit US publisher, announced the acquisition of the worldwide print and electronic publishing rights for "Learning Curve: A Novel of Silicon Valley," from legendary Silicon Valley journalist, author, and entrepreneur Michael S. Malone. Malone is the author of twenty non-fiction books, including such award-winning bestsellers as "The Virtual Corporation" and "Bill & Dave." He has been the host of four PBS series, and producer/writer of the Emmy-nominated PBS miniseries "The New Heroes." He was a founding shareholder of eBay, Siebel Systems and Qik, and is currently co-founder and vice-chairman of new medical software start-up PatientKey Inc.
"Learning Curve" tells the story of two Silicon Valley executives, one a veteran CEO of an established corporation, the other a young founder of a hot new startup, as they battle for industry dominance—all while dealing with both external threats and the manipulations of people close to them. Nothing is as it seems in this high-stakes game of cat and mouse.
Thanks to the unmatched experience of its author, "Learning Curve" gives the reader a level of verisimilitude rarely seen in fiction about high-tech entrepreneurship. The novel also captures the unique rhythm and pace of the high-tech industry, from the cut-throat competition to the billion dollar decisions and global deal-making.
“Silicon Valley and the digital revolution have been around for a half-century,” says Malone, “and they have utterly changed the world we live in, created almost unimaginable wealth, and produced many of our cultural heroes. And yet, no one has ever really captured the reality of this industry from the inside—at least not in fictional form. I set out to change that with 'Learning Curve.'”
"Learning Curve" has been assigned to Barking Rain Press staff editor Sharon Smith of Portland, Oregon. Publication for both the print and eBook formats of Learning Curve is anticipated for late spring 2013. Interested readers can read the first four chapters of "Learning Curve" for free at the Barking Rain Press website, www.barkingrainpress.org.
