Young Writers Competition Awards to be Presented 2/21/2013 at Comer Museum in Sylacauga, Alabama
The Young Writers Short Story Competition Awards will be presented to the 3 winners at 6:30 pm. on Feb. 21, 2013 at the Isabel Comer Museum in Sylacauga Alabama. Judges for the contest are Shirley Ferguson, Cabot Barden, and Donna Rentfroe.
Sylacauga, AL, February 17, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Young Writers Short Story Competition awards will be given out to the southern Talladega county winners for best short stories at 6:30 p.m. at the Isabel Comer Museum on February 2, 2013. The awards will be presented by Mr. Tom Roberts, Sylacauga City Councilman. The judges for the contest are Shirley Ferguson, author of Birth Cry and mother of Mickey Ferguson of Channel 6 News. Other judges are Cabot Barden, singer, songwriter, and author of the award winning novels, It's The Bass Player and Mixed Blessings, and Donna Rentfrow, curator of the Isabel Comer Museum. All the competing short stories were written by local teens from the Sylacauga, Childersburg area. About 12 stories were submitted. There will be three winners. Cabot Barden said that this competition was held to inspire young writers to get serious about their craft and help them find new avenues to expose their writing abilities.
