Promethean Dreams Helps to Answer the Question: What, Exactly, is Heat?

Photographic works from Matt McKee's Promethean Dreams series have been selected to support and set the mood for Bill Streever's talk about his latest book, Heat: Adventures in the World's Fiery Places, “an adventurous ride through the most blisteringly hot regions of science, history, and culture.”

Boston, MA, February 19, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Museum of Science Presents the Science Author Salon 2013

There are fiery, wispy, dragon licks of flame hanging around Bill Streever as he explores the subject of heat. Literally.

Photographic works from Matt McKee's Promethean Dreams series have been selected to support and set the mood for Bill Streever's talk about his latest book, Heat: Adventures in the World's Fiery Places, “an adventurous ride through the most blisteringly hot regions of science, history, and culture" (Streever, Bill). Streever, a bestselling scientist and nature writer, goes to any extreme to find out what heat really means.

Artist Matt McKee says, "I am psyched that a few pieces from Promethean Dreams are going to be hanging at the Museum of Science's Author talk with Bill Streever. His new book, 'Heat', sounds like a great read. Since my series is about our fascination with fire, it seems like a particularly good match up!”

The Museum of Science presents the Science Author Salon, featuring Promethean Dreams, a photographic visualization of that elusive, essential, and sometimes dangerous, element heat. On Tuesday, February 19, 2013, from 6PM to 10PM at Bocoup Loft, 355 Congress St, Boston, MA, 02118. Snack on spicy bites registering high on the Scoville Scale, sip some fiery hot cocoa, check out the work of burning hot local artists like Matt McKee, snag a signed copy of Heat, then stay and groove to sultry sounds and too-hot-to-handle video.
