Asentria Announces New Mobile Generator Management Product for Telecom Operators with Showcase at GSMA Mobile World Congress
Seattle, WA, February 22, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Asentria has released the new S350 SiteBoss, and accompanying Asentria SiteManager (ASM) software, to monitor mobile generators used by Mobile Network Operators (MNO’s) as part of their disaster recovery plans. MNO’s have mobile generators in a number of configurations; as part of a truck mounted mobile cell site, as a standalone truck mounted generator, or as a trailer mounted generator to be towed by a truck.
“When your network and the safety of those that rely on your service are on the line you need a reliable monitoring solution,” said Tim Stoner, CEO, Asentria. “With the SiteBoss 350 and ASM software combination, MNO’s can remotely monitor mobile generators to not only maintain standard network uptime, but also aid in disaster recovery situations.”
The S350 hardware is an intelligent Mobile Generator Monitoring Unit that includes a wireless modem (CDMA/EVDO, LTE, or HSPA), as well as an internal GPS receiver to provide data on the location of mobile generator. The device includes a number of I/O interfaces to monitor the generator itself, including data on fuel level, run time, and other related issues.
The ASM software facilitates communication between remote generators via wireless modem and a central location, most often the Network Operation Center (NOC) of the MNO. ASM displays where the generators are located on a map, shows basic alarm conditions that might exist, and facilitates communication of data northbound to a Network Management Software (NMS).
The combined S350 and ASM solution was created in direct response to the MNO’s needs in the Northeastern United States after both Hurricane Irene and Hurricane Sandy. This solution will allow the NOC to better manage mobile generators when deployed for disaster recovery purposes. This system was designed around the specific requests from operators—based on the challenges they encountered during widespread electrical outages—to better utilize their back-up generator assets in similar future events. The S350 and ASM are available now for proof-of-concept testing.
Asentria, Inc. is a Seattle-based company that provides a wide range of remote management solutions for monitoring, access, and control of remote or unmanned communication equipment sites for companies that have telecommunication networks. To find out more, please visit www.asentria.com.
