Miami Beach API Developed by Solodev to be Featured at University of Miami’s Hackathon Feb. 23-24
Computer programmers will be working through the night in the name of caffeine and Miami Beach tourism to build new apps designed for that world-class city.
Miami, FL, February 23, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Solodev, a leading Internet software and mobile development company, will showcase its Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority Application Programming Interface (MBVCA API) Feb. 23 and 24, during UHack 2013, a 24-hour app creation event designed to foster innovation and creativity.
The MBVCA API was developed in 2012 after Solodev was selected by the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority (MBVCA) to lead the project designed to boost tourism through technology. The API was chosen for the hackathon because it supports third-party mobile application development for IOS (Apple), Android and other mobile devices.
“The MBVCA API gives programmers access to real-time data on any and all things related to Miami Beach,” said Solodev CTO Shawn Moore. “Solodev is pioneering the way when it comes to API development and the MBVCA API is the latest community-building initiative in that effort.”
UHack attendees will be able to tap into the API in order to create next-generation apps to promote Miami Beach shopping, dining, arts and entertainment, nightlife, sports, music, transportation and more. The resulting apps will showcase the city to a new generation of tech-savvy visitors and residents.
UHack will take place at the University of Miami’s University Center. The event is free and open to all high school and college students. For more information about Uhack, please visit www.uhack.us.
