Touch Screen Operation Simplifies Temperature and Air Velocity Scanner for Thermal Characterizations

Norwood, MA, February 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The ATVS-NxT™ hot wire anemometer from Advanced Thermal Solutions, Inc. (ATS) is a fully-portable scanner that provides rapid and highly precise of temperature and air velocity measurements under variable conditions for thermally characterizing electronic packages.

The ATVS-NxT™ scanner is operated by touch screen control of its stageVIEW™ Command Center program. Simple fingertip commands enable fast acquisition of temperature and air velocity data, and subsequent analytics and reporting features. The PC includes an 8 GB hard drive and a CD/RW drive. Ethernet connections allow the scanner to be operated over an intranet or the Internet.

The ATVS-NxT™ supports up to 32 sensors for simultaneous, single-point air velocity and temperature measurements in environments where single or multipoint measurements are required. The sensors are calibrated for both low (natural convection) and high velocity flow rates.

The unique and patented sensors are designed to be flexible, robust and low profile to minimize flow disturbance. They can be easily placed anywhere in the test domain. The use of a single sensor to measure both temperature and velocity eliminates errors introduced as a result of the flow being non-isothermal.

The easy to use ATVS-NxT™ collects heat and airflow data useful to heat sink manufacturers, IC houses, board designers, and other electronics manufacturers. The scanner’s single-point measurement of temperature and air velocity provides faster, more precise data enabling more efficient thermal management solutions.
