Desaware, Inc. Announces the Shipment of the Desaware Licensing System version 1.5 for Visual Studio .NET

San Jose, CA, August 04, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Dan Appleman, president of Desaware, Inc announced that the company is shipping version 1.5 of its award winning Desaware Licensing System .NET. This update provides significant improvements to the client components for the Desaware Licensing System (DLS), in particular with regard to support for licensing web applications and services.

This upgrade is offered free to current DLS developers and it includes the following enhancements:

* Flexible Storage of Licensing Certificates: Developers can store license certificates in isolated storage (machine or user storage), or completely take over storage and retrieval of certificates. For example license certificates can now be stored in a local database or as part of the application's configuration settings.

* Web Code Entry Control: Similar to the Code Entry Control of previous versions of the DLS, this enhancement adds an ASP.NET server control to make it easy to include this feature to web forms. With full support for Internet Explorer, Firefox, and AJAX code validation, the new WebCodeEntry control is ideal for those shipping ASP .NET web applications and services.

* Increased Flexibility with System Identifiers: The version 1.5 update allows developers to discard the default identifiers entirely, enabling them to base the licensing permissions on any criteria. Included in the update is an example illustrating how to license a web application or service based on host name and/or IP address.

* A complete listing of enhancements and features can be found at www.desaware.com.

With its focus on security and extensibility, the Desaware Licensing System is easily adaptable to a wide variety of security levels, user experiences and scenarios, and is easily integrated into existing systems and enterprise back-ends.

The Desaware Licensing System sells for $1495 (includes one developer and one server license). Multiple unit discounts and site licenses are available. Additional licenses are $495 per developer and $1000 per server license. A server can license an unlimited number of applications. Please contact Desaware for source code licensing information.
