Largest Indoor Display of Piston Powered Vehicles in the Country at I-X Piston Powered Auto-Rama

The Summit Racing Equipment I-X Piston Powered Auto-Rama Presented by Lincoln Electric is the largest Auto-Rama ever held at the I-X Center showcasing more than 1,000 cars, bikes, boats, aircraft, tractors, monster trucks and more, filling over a million square feet.

Cleveland, OH, March 01, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The 47th Annual Summit Racing Equipment I-X Piston Powered Auto-Rama Presented by Lincoln Electric will showcase more than 1,000 vehicles, filling over a million square feet at the I-X Center March 15-17, 2013, making it the largest Auto-Rama ever held at the I-X Center. Participants will roll in from more than 13 states and as far as California to show off their custom cars, bikes, boats, aircraft, tractors, monster trucks, and interactive features giving fans the ultimate experience with a wide range of vehicles.

“When the Cleveland Auto-Rama and the I-X Piston Power Show combined into one mega show, it was inevitable that this event would become the largest indoor display of piston-powered vehicles in the country,” said Steve Legerski, show manager. “The Summit Racing Equipment and Lincoln Electric brands are ones that are known throughout the motorsports world and we are confident these relationships will add a lot of horsepower to the show for many years to come,” said Brad Gentille, president & COO of the I-X Center.

Auto enthusiasts will be amazed by some of the most respected ISCA Show Cars from across the country plus the Cruisin’ Times All Stars, featuring the top 40 hand-picked cars from summer show circuits in Thunder Row. Car clubs will vie for the Best Club Display and a $300 prize including The Antique Automobile Club of America Northern Ohio Chapter Ohio Region, The Rollers, The Nokturnal Car Club from Buffalo, The Bob Gillingham Performance Ford & Mustang Club, The Slick Devils, Corvette Cleveland, The Sewer Rats, The Disciples of Speed, The Stylers, The Pistons, The Erie Coast Cruisers, and the Cadillac Kings Cleveland.

For race fans, Thompson Raceway Park will display more than 28 drag racing vehicles, gassers, 409s and current race cars. Sandusky Speedway will have a large display showing off race cars from their Super Modified, Sprint Cars and E-mods series. The Greater Akron Model T Club will take you back in time by completely assembling a Model T drivable chassis using period hand tools and no hydraulic lifts, all in approximately four minutes. Must See Racing will crown their super modified champion during the event and allow fans to meet drivers and talk to nine-time Indianapolis 500 Mile race starter Tom Bigelow, and have their photo taken in the Must See Racing show car.

Motorcycle fans will revel at the collection of motorcycles, some shown for the first-time ever, as well as spectacular displays from bike builders like Michigan’s Chop-In Block featuring Beckner's Custom Cycles, Strong Arm Customs, Outside the Box and Justified Defiance along with Cleveland’s own Gas Box. Ohio Bike Week will also sponsor free motorcycle parking each day of the event.

Military buffs will have a special tribute this year when Ohio’s only Wounded Warrior Monument will be formally dedicated on the main stage on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 2:00pm. Military vehicles will make a large presence as well with vehicles supplied by the U.S Army.

The Ohio Motorpool and The Buckeye Military Vehicle Collectors will also have a wide-ranging display of military vehicles including a 1981 Chenowth Fast Attack Vehicle and 1944 M29C Studebaker Weasel. Both local clubs are affiliated with the Military Vehicle Preservation Association, The MVPA has a wide range of members with collections including bicycles to jeeps, armored cars to tanks, from the days of the Cavalry to WWII to Operation Desert Storm.

If planes get you soaring, the show will have a "King-Kong" sized display that features a B-25J Medium Bomber from the Liberty Air Museum, the nine cylinder radial engines of two T-28Bs, and The Cleveland Wing of the Commemorative Air Force’s SNJ4. Learn about aviation from the Discover Aviation Center and visit the Lorain County Remote Control Club.

Kids of all ages will enjoy a wide variety of interactive displays. Try your hands at navigating the NOSTR obstacle course in remote controlled Rock Crawlers and Off-Road Vehicles. See how it feels to ride in the All American Soap Box Derby’s Indoor Rally, or get photos with two giant monster trucks, the Screamin' Demon and Big Foot. Also back this year is the ever-popular gravel pit by the Historical Construction Equipment Association. A special Student Career Day will also be held on Friday, March 15th.
