Legendary Band to Rock Ace Golf Owned Crescent Oaks Country Club
The Invictas are not a bit about golf and all about a fun evening of dining and dancing at Ace Golf's formerly private club. The longest playing rock band in America, Herb Gross & the Invictas, return for a one-time concert on Friday, March 15 to play at Crescent Oaks Country Club.
Tarpon Springs, FL, March 01, 2013 --(PR.com)-- This year, the Invictas are celebrating 50 years of rockin ‘n rollin like the Beach Boys and The Rolling Stones. The members will travel 1000 miles for their return to Crescent Oaks in Tarpon Springs.
Last year, their rock ‘n roll show sold out fast, and Bill Place, owner of Crescent Oaks Golf Club expects 2013 to be another record breaking event. “The show is one night only, Friday March 15th, the week of St. Patrick’s Day from 5 to 9pm. Golf clubs are not known for having rock ‘n roll parties, but this is one of our most successful and fun events,” says Bill. The evening kicks off at 5pm with cocktails, dinner and appetizers available in the Grand Oaks Ballroom followed by a Band “meet and greet” at 5:30 pm. Music and performance runs from 7-9pm.
The band known as Herb Gross & The Invictas present a high energy classic rock show that features hits from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. The audience will rock to songs by Bruce Springsteen, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival and others. During the event, the audience becomes part of the show; people sing, dance and even join the band on stage.
The Invictas are nationally known and have played with groups like the Beach Boys, Gene Pitney, the Shirelles and others. On stage, they have 3 of the 4 original members. Their hit song and dance “The Hump” shocked parents during the 60’s. The band has been featured on NBC’s Today Show, as well as in articles by the Associated Press and other media across America.
The name Invictas is from the Buick 60’s car known as “The Invicta.” In Latin, the name means invincible. The band’s records include an album, several singles and cd’s released by Sahara and Forevermore records. The band hails from Rochester, NY, where members met while attending college at The Rochester Institute of Technology. They have been friends ever since and reunited the band twice since their start in the early 60’s.
In Florida, the band has been featured at The Punta Gorda Music Festival, the Oldsmar Days Festival, The Villages as well as Crescent Oaks. Recently, the band brought the house down at the International George Eastman Mansion and Photography Museum in upstate NY. They were the only rock band chosen to play there during 2012.
