Plein Air Painting Workshop in Sedona, AZ April 8-11, 2014

Sedona, AZ, March 01, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Enjoy outdoor painting in beautiful springtime Sedona. Each day, after a lecture in the studio, the class will head out to one of Sedona's scenic locations where Michael Chesley Johnson will first demonstrate in oil or pastel. After his demo, you'll have plenty of opportunity to put his teachings into practice while Michael offers lots of help at your easel. In these four days of retreat sty;le workshop, you'll learn how to look at the landscape with an artist's eye and capture the moment quickly but without sacrificing mood or magic. Material covered will include simplifying the scene by creating value sketches, establishing the painting with a block-in, discovering color harmony in the landscape and then most important - knowing when to stop.
