McKim & Creed Adds Leader, Expands Services to Power Industry
Raleigh, NC, March 07, 2013 --(PR.com)-- McKim & Creed, Inc., an engineering, geospatial sciences and planning firm with offices throughout the U.S., has expanded both its staff and the technical services it provides to the power industry.
Energy and telecommunications industry veteran Tom Kellogg has joined McKim & Creed as market sector leader for the power industry. Kellogg has more than 30 years’ experience working with electric utilities and energy providers. In his role with McKim & Creed, he will help lead the company’s efforts to enhance the delivery of solutions that support the electric utility industry.
Kellogg has an undergraduate degree in business and accounting and a graduate degree in teleprocessing science from the University of Southern Mississippi. He has also completed the Executive Development Program at Emory University.
McKim & Creed works extensively with energy providers, providing civil/site, environmental, electrical and power engineering, as well as photogrammetry, LiDAR, aerial mapping and conventional surveying. The company’s newly expanded service offerings include vegetation management, regulatory compliance support, asset management and transmission line rating services. In addition, McKim & Creed is now a licensed provider of Thermal Direct™, a patented thermal imaging technology developed by Utility Risk Management Corporation. With these services, McKim & Creed can help electric utilities assess the condition of their assets, in keeping with reliability standards established by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC). “Combining thermal imaging technology with McKim & Creed’s geospatial, terrestrial and airborne LiDAR, and remote sensing capabilities creates a service that helps utilities understand the condition of their assets, mitigate risk and manage infrastructure effectively, and do so in a way that is fast and accurate, and that provides a consistency unmatched by traditional approaches,” said Herbert P. McKim, Jr., PE, PLS, president and chief operating officer of McKim & Creed.
