Guardian Watch™ Founder Responds to 911 Industry Concerns in Article
Guardian Watch™ establishes an organization to develop a consolidated voice and a serious discussion about how the country will leverage the capabilities of m911 moving forward.
Atlanta, GA, March 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Dr. Gordon Jones, founder and CEO of Guardian Watch™ (GW), the developer of the first cloud-based mobile platform that connects citizens directly to public safety officials and emergency response teams to better prepare and respond to incidents, responds to concerns expressed by the 911 community over the ever-increasing number of public safety-related smartphone applications. The concerns have prompted the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) and National Emergency Number Association (NENA) to issue an explanation of 9-1-1.
In his article, “m911 Making Emergency Communications More Effective,” Dr. Jones seeks to allay the fears of the 911 community by explaining the goals and objectives of safety application developers as well as many of the beneficial features of the Guardian Watch™ app to the current 911 system.
Dr. Jones asserts that “The vast majority of application developers, such as Guardian Watch™, overtly support law enforcement and the emergency management community, and is deeply committed to promoting and advancing public safety in general.”
Effective communicating, between all those in the safety notification family, the technical features and shared benefits of mobile applications (we call m911) to the current 911 system will help strengthen and promote the advancement of the NG911 effort.
Guardian Watch™ will be establishing an organization (code name: www.m911Alliance.org) in order to develop a consolidated voice and a serious discussion with the traditional 911 representatives about how the country will leverage the capabilities of m911. This conversation will not be solely on how emergency data collected by m911 can “fit” into the 911 legacy systems, but more focused on evolving the whole communication process between citizen and first responder supported by public safety management.
