National Blue Chip Elite Lacrosse Camp Welcomes Sue Murphy as National Director
Syosset, NY, March 10, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The National Blue Chip Elite Lacrosse, the nation’s premier lacrosse program and invitation only camp for young women, announced today that Sue Murphy of Richmond, Virginia has joined the organization as National Director. Coach Murphy is a respected leader in women’s lacrosse with over 30 years of experience in the sport as a player, coach, mentor and recruiter. Murphy played both Division One field hockey and lacrosse at the University of Massachusetts where she became a two-time All-American lacrosse player and played post-college for Women’s Team USA Lacrosse.
As National Director of National Blue Chip Elite Lacrosse, Coach Murphy will be responsible for planning, managing and directing of camp operations. Coach Murphy will be actively recruiting coaches and players for the camp and be involved with the promotion of camps and other related programs. She will participate directly at camps and other programs with attendees and share her experience and expertise.

Her deep knowledge of high school, college and club lacrosse programs and her relationships give us the ability to attract the top talented college coaches to our program. As National Director, she will be responsible for the growth of National Blue Chip Elite Lacrosse as well as providing opportunities for hundreds of girls to improve their abilities and secure opportunities for scholarships,” said Dave Kotowski, Co-Founder of National Blue Chip Elite Lacrosse.
“National Blue Chip Elite Lacrosse provides high school girl lacrosse players with a platform to advance their playing careers and bring their athletic and leadership skills to a higher level. My experience and relationships, will allow National Blue Chip Elite to provide the most effective lacrosse program for student-athletes to be evaluated in an efficient way. College coaches will take advantage of the opportunity to observe prospects in drills, combine testing, small game scenarios and games. This approach is ideal for recruiters,” said Sue Murphy.
Murphy started coaching at a college level at Oberlin College in Ohio. In 1995 she started a new Division One women’s lacrosse program at Boston University. Within three years the program was top 10 nationally and won the America East Conference Championship. In 2001, she directed the women’s lacrosse program at the University of Richmond and within three years of her arrival, UR gained top 10 national status. She coached in Boston for seven years including starting a six year stint of coaching USA Lacrosse Developmental team (2000-2006). The staff that assisted Murphy with USA Devo included Mandy O’Leary (University of Florida), Kirsten Kimel (Duke University), Jenny Uhela (Michigan University) and Sue Heether (former USA World Cup Head Coach, owner of Sports Her Way).
Over her college coaching career, Murphy has shaped travel teams, camps and clinics and has helped many players reach their highest personal performances while producing many All Conference, All Americans, USA and World Cup players. Murphy has also served on the US Lacrosse Board of Governors and US Lacrosse Board of Directors while the USWLA merged into US Lacrosse.
As a result of her coaching experiences, she has developed numerous trusting relationships with sponsorship companies, college coaches, high school coaches and recruiters.
