New Search Engine “Adoption Families” Makes Finding Adoption Situations Easy
The website AdoptionFamilies.org, sponsored by open adoption agency Independent Adoption Center, helps pregnant women find home study approved adoptive families from all over the United States.
Concord, CA, March 12, 2013 --(PR.com)-- A new website released today by the Independent Adoption Center (IAC) will make the adoption search much easier for pregnant women considering adoption for their baby. As the first comprehensive search engine for adoption profiles, adoptionfamilies.org will perform searches on hundreds of waiting adoptive families around the United States based on the users' preferences.
IAC is the nation’s leader in open adoption, a form of adoption in which the birth parents choose the family with which to place their baby, and all parties share identifying information. Open adoption was groundbreaking in the 1980’s, but it has since become the norm in domestic US adoptions, with over 90% of US adoptions having some level of openness.
"The IAC is committed to developing and providing tools that makes adoption easier for birth and adoptive families," stated IAC Executive Director, Ann Wrixon. “This website is just one more step in our efforts to ensure that adoption is an open and transparent process.”
The homepage of the new search engine offers users the ability to search waiting families and chat with pregnancy counselors with just one click. The team at IAC hopes the site will help women considering adoption to reach the decision that is best for them.
“We are excited to be able to utilize Google’s search technology for this website,” said Ryan Schwab, IAC Marketing Director. “Doing so allows us to share this tool with women facing unplanned pregnancies, while maintaining our focus where it should be: on providing the best adoption counseling services possible.”
