Tijon Announces the Winner of Its Three-Month "La Jolla’s Signature Scent" Contest

San Diego’s luxury parfumerie and boutique reveals the new scent, chosen by the public, which is now available for purchase.

San Diego, CA, March 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- San Diego’s luxury parfumerie and boutique, Tijon, today announced the release of its winning perfume from a three-month “La Jolla’s Signature Scent Contest.” Of the three finalists, fragrance #1 was voted by the San Diego community to become the new signature fragrance of La Jolla.

Since opening in December 2012 to February 28, 2013, Tijon has hosted an in-store poll to determine the preferred fragrance that would be named after the coastal San Diego community of La Jolla.

The perfume chosen to represent La Jolla combines citrus scents of bergamot, lime, mandarin, coconut, verbena and grapefruit, freshened with a hint of fir balsam and sweet flowers, finishing with patchouli, amber, sandalwood and musk.

“La Jolla literally means ‘the jewel’ in Spanish, and it really is just that to San Diego; a gem,” said Rachelle Crumrine, President of Tijon USA. “We wanted a signature fragrance that the community and our customers felt represented La Jolla’s unique blend of southern European resort atmosphere, combined with the exquisite Southern California beaches and seaside living.”

The other two fragrances that customers had to choose from were:

Finalist #2: a blend of fresh picked garden greens with hints of lime, basil, fir balsam, eucalyptus, spearmint, and ginger finishing with notes of cedar and musk.

Finalist #3: a luxurious citrus scent of bergamot, lime, lemon, mandarin, and grapefruit along with a floral scent of rose and jasmine. This is combined with hints of basil and nutmeg and finishes with patchouli, amber, sandalwood and musk.

“Now that we have chosen the official scent for our La Jolla fragrance, we hope our visitors and workshop students will wear a little bit of 'La Jolla' with them wherever they go,” said Crumrine.

The “La Jolla” fragrance can be purchased in the boutique, located at 7853 Herschel Ave, and online at www.tijon.com. Customers are invited into the store to learn more about how the fragrance was created and to receive free samples of “La Jolla.”

In addition to its “Make Your Own” workshops, whereby guests can choose from over 300 oils to create custom fragrances, the boutique at Tijon offers numerous perfumes, soaps, jewelry and more.
